Community Rights Workshop 11/12/16 with Jane Anne Morris

Corporate anthropologist Jane Anne Morris will discuss how to make community action more effective in a speech at Coralville City Library, Schwab Auditorium, on Saturday, Nov. 12, 1:30 p.m. In her speech titled, “Community Rights: Roots and Split Ends,” Morris will include issues such as the Dakota Access Pipeline, the need for a moratorium on factory farming, the water and air pollution from CAFOs (confinement animal feeding operations) and struggles for fair labor practices and a livable wage in our community and the State of Iowa. There is no charge (free will donations accepted). The event has several local sponsors including the Community Rights Coalition of Eastern Iowa, Community Rights Working Group of Johnson County, 100Grannies for a Livable Future, University of Iowa Center for Human Rights, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Iowa City and more.
