Leslee Sandberg did a wonderful job in teaching us the basics of Public Narrative in just a bit over an hour. We told our own stories and then we worked on common themes and values, with a sense of what we will do as we go forward as a group. The Steering Committee will work on pulling together all the notes. We welcomed Jan Stephans as a member of the Steering Committee. Now there are six–Maureen, Becky, Becky, Ann, Jan and Barbara.
Maureen will announce a “Granny on the Go” session so that we can all meet somewhere for coffee with our knitting or handcrafts and signs about climate change. Stay tuned.
A reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, we meet at the Ciha Funeral Home 2720 Muscatine Ave at noon for a group picture of grannies getting off their rockers–their beautiful white rockers on their beautiful front porch. This will not take long. Dress warmly so you can go without your coat for a few minutes, and wear your Granny hats. I have extra– If you can, wear green.
Before the picture–come sew bags at the First Presbyterian Church on Rochester Ave. starting at 9 am.
After the picture–lunch at Blackstone Cafe.
If you can’t make it to the picture session, there will be one on Sun. at 2:00. And after that we will figure out how to snap you so you can be included in the picture. Photoshopping is great that way. Thanks to Maureen for her efforts on this.
OCTOBER 28 at 4 pm Come join the witness to the phase out of single use plastic bags–City Hall Iowa City. The municipal councils from Johnson Co will be present to hear our request. Again–hats and buttons! Thanks to Becky R who is pulling this together.
